Security Deposit & Collision Damage Waiver (CDW)
Last updated: February 2026
All rentals booked through Click & Steer require financial responsibility coverage for the rented vehicle.
Customers may choose one of the following options:
Option 1 — Collision Damage Waiver (CDW)
Customers may purchase the Click & Steer CDW protection during booking.
If CDW is selected:
The renter’s maximum responsibility for covered accidental vehicle damage is limited to BBD $500 per incident.
CDW covers:
- Accidental collision damage
CDW does not cover:
- Dangerous or reckless driving
- Driving under the influence
- Unauthorized drivers
- Traffic violations
- Interior damage
- Tyres, wheels, glass, roof or undercarriage damage
- Lost keys
- Theft due to negligence
CDW is a damage waiver and is not an insurance policy.
Option 2 — Refundable Security Deposit Hold
If CDW is declined, a refundable security deposit hold of BBD $4,000 will be placed on the renter’s payment card at vehicle pickup. If CDW is declined, a refundable security deposit hold of BBD $2,000 will be placed on the renter’s payment card at vehicle pickup.
Important details:
- This is an authorization hold, not a charge.
- Funds remain in the customer’s bank account but are temporarily unavailable.
- The hold may remain for 3–10 business days after the rental depending on the card issuer.
The deposit may be used to cover:
- Vehicle damage
- Missing fuel
- Cleaning fees
- Late returns
- Traffic fines
- Lost accessories or keys
If no charges occur, the hold is released after return inspection.
Why this is required
All operators must ensure financial responsibility coverage for vehicle damage as required by Barbados rental industry standards.
